Those who broke any rule of the school could be referred to the student court by a teacher or administrator if that person decided not to handle the punishment themselves. The student would recruit a defense attorney to represent them and a date was set for court. The three presidentially-appointed justices presided over the case with a faculty advisor. When court was in session these students were at their best. Students would come from other schools to see our students in action. To this day, I marvel at what these students did. This was much more than education, it was true learning.
